Heavy Fuel (part 2)

6 hours of robotics left, I needed to start taking a few risks to get some fuel.
I waited untill 4pm EvE time for our new static to open, praying it to be close to high sec, as the last wh we had was 15 jumps through null sec to the nearest fuel.
Scanned the static wh down and popped though to see where we are... dammit 28 just to empire and as far north as we could be, right into the middle of goonswarm!
I started to workout how much isk im ganna lose with all my ships and the pos.
Me and my fellow wormhole dweller started scanning goonville for a hopeful wh to high sec...
9 systems and nothing.
The last system I scanned i found a nutral,
A russian nutral ...from goonswam.
Im ganna die!
I spoke in local, telling the tale of my epic search for fuel, expecting to get blown up any second, even though im in a cloaked up SB .
He offered to get me some robotics from the local station that I cant dock in.
So I offered to pay dubble if I got out of the system alive .
Local started to fill up...
He sent me to a planet to meet up, so I got there under the shadow of my cloak , expecting 6 BSs to jump me.
But noone was there.
He than asked me if I need anything else, smelling a hot drop while he stalls me, i asked for some helium isotopes which im tunning low on too.
then aranged to meet up in a system closer to our wh.
When he started offering to drop it off at my pos I knew I waw about to get jumped my a bored aliance.
As a last hope , I had no choice but to put myself in the fireing line, I jumped in my itty 5 back in the wh and set up the meet in a system 1 jump away from the wh exit and empty. My plan was to run as soon as anyone came in local.
I requested he came alone.
There was lots of brakes in our convo, so it appeared he was busy doing something else, aranging a hot drop maybe?
I got to the system with my would be assassin and joined his fleet, then warped.
Then the strangest thing happened...
I gave him the cost of the fuel and he dropped a can with the fuel in!
I quickly grabbed it and warped, paying him the same amount again as I promised, dubble jita prices, but well worth it.
We chatted for a while and he offered to get me more stuff if I needed it.
I was still in shock!
I met a genuine nice guy, in eve! In goonswarm!

I owe the safety of my pos, all my t2 ships and all the corp mates stuff to the first, honiest stranger ive met in eve.

Robotics

We had a rare hisec exit, great I thought, I can get my overkill for a c1 nighthawk in and some much needed fuel at last.
Got the NH in np and grabbed my itty 5 for the fuel run.

Like the noob I am, I forgot to check what fuel we needed.
So I got meh space buddy to have a look while I sat in amarr buying the pos fuels .

50m isk worth of fuel and 7 jumps later I jumped back through our wh into our w-space as it collapsed due to mass, behind me.
By my calculations we could still get another two BC sized ships in so I screwed up , as I wanted to get our new corp member in that way.
(That makes me the CEO of a three man corp now! Which is weard for me as a really dont like being a guild/clan/corp leader)

So I dump all our fuel in the pos and realize we still need robotics.

Its not meh space buddys fault , ever since hes been in eve Ive made robotics. Untill now :/

That was 7 days ago and still no exit to a hub.
We could have got some in last night but eve suffered a DDOS attack by lulsec and CCP shut down the server.

2 days 14 hours left of robotics.
Time for a mad dash through our null sec static for life saving fuel.

Teh New Rook

Ive been looking for a ECM boat that can Warp scram .
I looked into it for weeks, i already fly a falcon but its never seen action.
Then i finally found a up close rook that had a 20k EHP 250dps and had a scram and some ECM.
I cant post my fit as my pc is down atm but will try to as soon as I can.
Now 130m isk ship is way more than I like to pvp with , but trying to defend a wh with only two guys we need a equillizer.

We had a hi sec exit via a active c2 so I picked one up and got it back to the pos.

No sooner as I put on my captains slippers and grabbed a can of space beer the guys from the c2 decided to come and releave us of our sleeper sites.

My buddy was at the wh entrance in his stealth bomber keeping an eye on there activity's and I fired up the rooks engines and warped to 20km off the wormhole entrance.
Just a I got there so did a cane.

Now I got no idea if i can take him out, but desperate to prove my rook/scram/ECM ship idea will work i engaged.
To my surprise i locked him up , got a point on him and started to chip away at his amour with my crappy dps.
He could tank me np , lucky my friendly nemesis pilot uncloaked and started throwing torps at him.
We done well, in no time at all he was in structure.

Only prob was we were sat at the wh and he simply jumped through.

Looking back at it, we should have followed. But my ship is less than an hour old and his whole crew was probably waiting for us on the other side.
So we put up a few bubbles and headed to finish off a sleeper site we started.

For over an hour there was no sign of the cane coming back in so we relaxed a little , a little too much.

Its not like we both didn't dscan. we were both scanning constantly.
But the cane managed to land on top of us in the site.
I instant warped to pos as I was alined.
Grabbed my trusty rook when I realize my space buddy was still trying to warp.
The cane took him out so quick he didn't stand a chance.
At least he got his pod back safe.

Visitors

After my costly lesson in logistics, i needed to relax and set up my PI planets.
Checking dscan before i warp and..wait!...
Two drakes on dscan,
hang on...my drakes still in hisec!

We still not managed to get in any combat ships, my space buddy is in a scanning ship and i got a blockage runner,
what are we supose to do?
fire probes at them?

So we spent the rest of the day trying to look hard to scare them off with our battle probes.

And watching them reduce our 19 sleeper sites to 9.

To rub salt in, we also had a hi sec exit that night, 8 jumps from amarr.

Heavy fuel

I gently rolled over in my bed looking at the clock, its only 8:30am and Mrs Kaoz was still fast asleep. Just as I was heading back to my dream I awoke abruptly.
Shit! only a days worth of fuel left and i need a trade hub, ships, more pos modules and strontium. I jumped out of bed and logged into eve, hitting the on switch on the kettle as i passed.

After 4 cups of coffee and 30 odd sigs scanned ,it was clear the only way out of our little world was the null sec exit.
Starting to panic, I jumped out of my trusty itty 5 with my pod and checked out null sec.
Result only 4 jumps to hisec! And it looks very quite.

Sod it , time to drink a big can of man up and run to the nearest shop (amarr was 12 jumps away)

I didnt see a soul on the way through null sec, not even a cod , and the only mullet was on my head.

The hueler was full the the brim with 100million isks worth of pos fuels in minutes and i was ready for the return trip.
Since it was so quite, i had no second thought to blindly jump into null sec in a untanked itty 5 with 100 million isks tied up in it...
One nv in null sec , and he just turned up at the gate i was at, so i hit warp to zero and waved at the dramiel out of my window and i shot off.
I was enjoying a fresh cup of coffee laid back in my pilots seat at my kitchen pc, when I was yanked out of warp early by a bubble, rubbing the coffee off my monitor i could just make out my new friend the dramiel pilot heading towards me.
I was right on the edge of the new bubble and spammed warp to the nearest planet, and my warp drive engaged!
A small celibration started as I thought I was going to make it.
The dramiel was still 40km out and i was approaching warp speed....very slowly approaching warp speed...

turns out dremiels are quite fast.

Now I did have a big can of man up...I just didnt open it yet.

There was begging ,
Offers of money,
Sex
Anything...

I guess he wanted to show off his killboard with his epic battle with a fail fitted itty 5.

Hummm i wants a dremiel .

As I awoke from my med clone, looked out into my ship bay, and see my viator,
no i said viator...

Perfect, just what i need, a cloaky blockade runner and downtime comming up.
29 jumps later and im outside the null sec system, cloaked , with a few days of fuel and 5 seconds untill servers go down...

time for a shower.

Needless to say I got it home 30.2 mins later with the help of super scouting space buddy.

Where ever I lay my space helmet...

The 1st full day living in our hole was eventful, the 1st job i had was to brake it gently to my fellow wormhole dweller and pos mate about the scanning .
Scanning is soul distroying, after 10 days of scanning to find this wh, we then had to scan down the sites every day to see what exits we have. Add to that my buddys got low scanning skills and i dont have a scanning ship in the hole yet. Infact i only have my itty 5 with a probe launcher.
Now this is not normally too bad, but no ones been to this systems in ages and we have 19 sleeper sites and 30+ sigs on scan. 90mins later and were done...

one slight problem...the c2 static has gone.

Ok so maybe the c2 wasint a static wh , maybe there is another c1,c2 or hisec static we missed..
nope all sigs covered...
well this is strange . Out of all the sigs the only wh is a null sec exit one.

Thats when i discovered www.staticmapper.com

this great little website tells you the probable static exit whs in each system. So i punched in our system name expecting to be told i somehow missed the static wh .

ONLY POSSABLE STATIC IS A N060 TO NULL SEC

Well thats just bloody great, our only static takes us the one place i dont want to go.
Of course being the experianced pod pilot that I am, I assumed a c1 would not have a static as usless as a null and we were so excited to finally find a wh with no one living in , we didnt care what statics it had....
at the time...

The big move

So, our new home, the nice c1 wh , is inside a semi active c2 8 jumps from my hisec base. Im ganna need at least 4 trips with my itty 5 to get our pos in with a few days of fuel.
Not a problem if im sat at home infront of my gaming rig.
Bit more of a challange hiding at work, with a old laptop running the net from my phone,that struggles to run eve, it struggles to run firefox most days if im honest.
I got on the phone during downtime to my space buddy, to see if he can get online to scout ahead for me, thats no probs .

As soon as DT finished we were on it, got the tower in and onlined in no time . The c2 locals were all offline, probally making the most of the daily downtime .

CCP put the servers down for 30mins a day to encourage pod pilots to have the odd shower. And look out the window to check IRL is still there.

once the med amarr tower was up and shields online we could relax abit. Now we clamed our little piece of the universe as our own.
Thats when our problems started.

As i flew out our wh, leaving my trusty RL space buddy to ancher and online what was left floating around our pos. I disconnected. Nothing new there, oranges network being prone to dropping when im nearly 800 metres from the orange comms tower. I relogged...and DC'ed...and relogged....and DC'ed..
The next 3 runs with the rest of the pos took over 3 hours with me DC'ing every 5 mins.

Very frustrating.

my gaming rig was going to get a cuddle soon as i get home.
